Monday Motive Minute: What if Ready Wasn’t a Feeling, But a Decision?

What If Ready Wasn’t a Feeling, But a Decision?

We spend so much of our lives waiting.

Waiting to feel confident.
Waiting for the right timing.
Waiting until things settle down.

We keep waiting for the stars to align, for the perfect circumstances that we believe will bring that “ready” feeling, that too often doesn’t arrive. We waste time. We miss opportunities.

You don’t always need to feel ready first.
You decide you are ready, and then the feeling often follows.

Readiness can be found in our intention.
It’s the quiet choice to begin.
To take the first step, even if the next ten aren’t clear.
To embrace discomfort as the price of admission for the life we want.

In our work lives and workplaces, it matters just as much.
Teams stall when leaders wait for the perfect plan.
Cultures stagnate when well-being is something we’ll “get to later.”
Our professional goals gather dust.

Meeting some of our core human motives, like GROWTH and FUTURE SUCCESS, don’t thrive on waiting. We meet these needs by moving forward.

Readiness is contagious. A gift we can give others. Every time we support, inspire, and champion the people around us, we spark their courage to take their own first step.

So here’s the question for you this week:
Where in your work or life are you waiting to feel ready?
And what would shift if you simply chose to be ready today?

Know someone who could use this boost of “ready” energy? Share this article and let’s spread the ripple!

The 15% White Space Rule for Work-Life Harmony

“Give it your all.” We’ve all heard this mantra, whether from motivational speakers or well-meaning mentors. But here's the truth bomb: we're not built to operate at 110% all the time. Heck, we're not even meant to function at a constant 100%. Trying to hit that...
